The State Theater is led by founder Carter Ford, a multifaceted producer, technical director, and consultant who specializes in the intersection of creative storytelling and complex systems analysis.

Carter brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the project, holding a degree from Western Kentucky University with a focus on Social Psychology and Macro-Economics and a minor in film production. To Carter, leadership is defined by a diverse professional background that bridges high-level strategy with hands-on execution, including:

• Technical Expertise: He has served as a Technical Director for numerous stage productions (such as Beetlejuice Jr. and The Velveteen Rabbit) and as a Project Manager for Bright Event Production, where he specialized in functional lighting design and digital-tool integration,.

• Operational Leadership: Carter's experience includes managing client relations and property operations for a $10M+ multi-use commercial asset.

• Organizational Strategy: He is an alumnus of the Disney College Program (DCP), an experience specifically designed to deepen the understanding of large-scale organizational leadership.

Driven by his role as a "Scholar Producing Arts Research & Knowledge," Carter founded The State Theater on Washington and IMPACT to transform the historic 1924 building into a centralized headquarters for youth arts education and community enrichment.
